March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, a time to recognize and celebrate people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), while also reflecting on the importance of inclusion, access, and community support.
DDAM matters because people with developmental disabilities have historically faced barriers to education, healthcare, employment, and full participation in their communities. This month is an opportunity to amplify the voices and contributions of people with IDD, highlight the value of person-centered supports, and reaffirm our shared commitment to building a more equitable and inclusive world.
At its core, Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month is about more than awareness: it’s about belonging, dignity, and ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
How Impruvon Health contributes to DDAM
At Impruvon, this month aligns closely with the work we do every day. Supporting people with IDD means helping make care more accessible, services more person-centered, and systems more responsive to the needs of individuals, families, and communities.
Whether we’re improving experiences across care journeys, partnering with providers, or building solutions that strengthen supports, our work contributes to the broader goal of inclusion and equity for people with developmental disabilities - not just in March, but all the time.
This month, we’re proud to recognize the community we serve and the ongoing impact of this work. Just last week, Impruvon had the privilege of being on the ground at both the South Carolina Human Services Providers Association Conference and the New Jersey Association of Community Providers 2026 Annual Conference. These two gatherings brought together the passionate providers, advocates, and leaders dedicated to advancing care for people with IDD. These moments aren’t just opportunities to connect; they are reminders of the collective momentum behind this community and the responsibility we all share in moving it forward. Being present, listening, and collaborating at events like these directly fuels our commitment to uplifting and empowering individuals with developmental disabilities and the teams who support them every day. Watch the video below to have a look back at that energy in action:
As we continue to celebrate Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month, we’re reminded that awareness is just the beginning. Real impact comes from continued partnership, innovation, and a shared belief in what’s possible when every individual is supported to thrive. 💙
